el dueño seguramente se va a enojar

February 13, 2010

the housekeeper was here today.

what i want to tell you about trini is that

i think it’s safe to say
she prides herself more on
creative genius in:
perceived clutter minimization
and correction of decorative incompetence
than she does on
disinfection and dirt obliteration.

by that i mean,
(in case it wasn’t obvious)
that she likes to move our stuff
and any papers or items that
(though they may be very important)
look sloppy to her.

in this
she and i are parecidas, (alike)
and justin is enojado. (irritated)

she also likes to rearrange entire rooms on occasion,
and if this happens in our studio,
my pride is sure to suffer
and my ire to escalate
because
i like
what we’ve done with the place.

she does not appear to
actually enjoy cleaning the items she is moving.
for example justin’s whiskers are still on the sink by my face wash.

that is why
justin would rather she not enter our domain,
as the original intended purpose
appears to be unaccomplished
and other unpleasant side effects arise.

but, if she did not,
then the mopping, the toilet cleaning, the dusting
would all be up to me.
and i’m pretty busy and maybe a little lazy,
and she’s cleaning the main house anyway…

so i like to laugh at the little choices,
like, the file folders wedged between the towels and sheets,
on the shelf that might as well be labeled linens,
and hope that in exchange we’re getting a mildly cleaner apartment.

but we never necessary finalized,
whether we would request
that she no longer clean up here.
though justin made it clear that’s what he’d rather,
i’m not sure i said anything at all.

so i just got home
and she’s definitely been here.

and justin is still at the shop
helping tom with some renovations,
and when he gets home to see
my hairbrush and lady things all stuffed
into his man bag

there’s a chance
he’ll not quite love it.

tomorrow,
i’ll tell you about how
every thought i think
is immediately followed
by a mental search for a
spanish equivalent.

and about how
prunes apparently have
no image issues whatsoever in may-hico.

and also,
whether or not
the carnival queen
gets assassinated
at her coronation tonight
as it is rumored that
the cartels threaten to
cause a fuss,
and bombs and guns were found buried
on the beach by where i run.

how do you like that menu?
and you thought folders in linens was intriguing, epa!

Its my favorite type of reading – these e.lisa.beth. ramblings.
and by ramblings, i mean not one thing bad – i hope you realize.

i second the Chelle, not a bad wordsmith herself. but, i have to admit, i’d prefer not knowing about guns on the beach where you run. K?

Haha….I remember not liking where my maid would put things. I’m with you though. I’d rather that then having to do it all. :)
